Seven people were arrested on misdemeanor warrants in a sweep of North Coast communities Nov. 17, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

Authorities sought suspects with warrants in misdemeanor and felony theft cases, and drug-related cases, according to a Sheriff’s Department statement. The department’s Court Services Bureau-Field Division conducted the sweep in Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe in conjunction with of the Encinitas Sheriff’s Station’s Holiday Watch crime prevention program.

In addition to the seven arrests, nine misdemeanor warrants were cleared and one suspect was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, authorities reported.

The sweep was funded by the Sheriff’s Warrant System Automation Trust Fund, which is funded by fees collected from people who have violated a written promise to appear in court or fail to comply with a court order.
