ENCINITAS – Critically acclaimed mezzo-soprano Laurie Rubin is set to perform with pianist Jennifer Taira on Jan. 18, 7:30 p.m., at the Encinitas Library. Rubin’s career highlights include solo recitals at Wigmore Hall in London and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. She has given concerts at the White House and John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and performed with Marvin Hamlisch. Taira is a clarinetist and collaborative pianist who has performed at such venues as the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, the Greenwich Music Festival and the National Press Club. Tickets are $12.
