ENCINITAS — The Arts Alive banner project returns for its 14th year with unveiling reception Feb. 16, noon to 4 p.m. at 1950 N. Coast Highway in Leucadia. The project is presented by The 101 Artists’ Colony, Cardiff 101 MainStreet and Leucadia 101 MainStreet, and sponsored by Hansen Surf Shop, Cardiff Seaside Market, Belmont Village Senior Living and Coast News Group. The 101 original paintings will be displayed on light poles starting at La Costa Boulevard and south to Cardiff by-the-Sea along Coast Highway 101, according to an announcement. The banners will then come down for a live auction May 26. Silent bidding will start at the Feb. 16 unveiling reception.
