April 20 tour to highlight Olivenhain gardens

ENCINITAS – More than 20 private gardens will be featured in the eighth annual Encinitas Garden Festival & Tour from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 20. This year, the Festival returns to Olivenhain, where neighborhood residents will open their gardens to welcome tour guests. The all-day event aims to celebrate community, gardening and the horticultural heritage of Encinitas with a Gardener’s Marketplace, self-guided walking tour of the featured gardens and talks by local gardening experts. As a non-profit organization, a portion of the nonprofit event’s proceeds will go to the Encinitas Garden Festival Fund at the Coastal Community Foundation, among other community organizations. Advance reservations are $23 for adults and $7 for children ages 10 and under. Space permitting, festival day admission will be $30 and $10 for children. Reservations and more information: www.encinitasgardenfestival.org online or 760-753-8615 by phone.
