The new contract, effective July 1, runs through 2017.
“Dr. Rodriguez’s commitment to students and this institution has positioned MiraCosta College to become one of the best community colleges in the nation,” board President David Broad said in a college news release. “His firm belief in higher education, dedication to open access, and his ability to manage the resources of the college has earned him the respect and support of the Board of Trustees; the faculty, staff and students at the college; and the community as a whole. The board is thrilled that he will continue to serve as this institution’s leader for years to come.”
Rodriguez joined MiraCosta College as president in 2009. His contract includes an annual salary of $256,208, the same as when he was hired, according to the college.
“MiraCosta College is an exceptional institution with an unfaltering commitment to educate students and serve the community,” Rodriguez said in the news release. “It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve as president and I appreciate the confidence of the board to lead this institution into the future.”
