Encinitas seeks points of view March 3 for old school site
February 26, 2015
The city of Encinitas’ Pacific View Activation Plan Subcommittee will hold its third public meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. March 3 at City Hall.
The creation of a process to determine which Encinitas organizations will be involved in the former school site’s use is among the meeting agenda items, according to the meeting agenda and a Save Pacific View news release. The meeting will also cover what uses will be accepted at the site, and how communication and collaboration will be handled.
The public is invited to participate in the discussions.
Encinitas City Council members Tony Kranz and Lisa Shaffer are leading the subcommittee, which has been put in place since the city’s purchase of the long-closed coastal school. The city’s goal is to utilize the site as an arts complex.
The city also seeks preliminary architectural proposals for rehabilitation of the property. Architectural consultants interested in submitting proposals must attend a meeting at Pacific View at 10 a.m. March 5, with proposals submitted by 5 p.m. March 19.
More information on the request for proposals can be found online at encinitasca.gov/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=5128.
