San Dieguito district names interim superintendent

San Dieguito Union High School District trustees named a current administrator June 2 to hold the superintendent’s seat as the search continues for a permanent leader.

Eric Dill will begin his term as interim superintendent on July 1, according to a school district announcement. His selection is pending Board of Trustees approval at its next regularly scheduled board meeting. Dill, currently the district’s associate superintendent of business services, joined San Dieguito in 2001 and has served as an associate superintendent since 2010.

The district has started the search for a new superintendent in the wake of Rick Schmitt’s resignation to lead the San Ramon Valley School District. San Dieguito officials seek community input as part of that process, according to a district announcement. An online survey is available to parents in the community on the district’s website www.sduhsd.net through June 13 at 4 p.m.

The San Dieguito Union High School District serves coastal North County communities including Encinitas, Solana Beach, Carlsbad, Del Mar, Cardiff and Rancho Santa Fe.
