BMW Encinitas is among 35 AutoNation car dealerships to receive certification in J.D. Power’s Dealer of Excellence Program, AutoNation announced March 7.

The J.D. Power program recognizes vehicle retailers that provide exceptional customer service based on its surveys. The marketing information company conducts surveys of customer satisfaction, product quality and buyer behavior for numerous industries.

Stores that qualified for the Dealer of Excellence Program ranked high in J.D. Power’s U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index Study, according to AutoNation.

“This certification sets us apart, especially coming from such an authority as J.D. Power,” Jim Bender, executive vice president of sales for AutoNation, said in the company’s announcement. “To have an all-time record of 35 stores certified, it solidifies AutoNation’s commitment to providing excellent and distinguished customer service.”

AutoNation operates more than 325 new-vehicle franchises across the country.

BMW Encinitas was known as Harloff BMW from 1975 to 2006 until the Harloff family sold the dealership.
