Teenagers seeking local jobs have a new outlet for potential work through Encinitas-based Teen Job Prep.

The company recently launched its website, where teens can look through job boards listing hundreds of opportunities in the San Diego region, Teen Job Prep announced Jan. 27. The site reviews the job listings to ensure that requirements, experience levels and schedules are geared toward teenagers, according to the company’s news release.

The site is the brainchild of Cardiff residents Shelby Reynolds and Marci Kawar, according to an SDVoyager profile. The two created the site out of frustration with a lack of resources for teenage job seekers.

“After looking online for resources to help, we realized that there was an abundance of resources aimed at college graduates and adults but very little geared specifically towards teenagers who had little or no experience,” Reynolds and Kawar stated for SDVoyager.

The site is designed to present a streamlined approach that welcomes local businesses to post job openings for free, according to the company’s news release. The site also offers a blog with tips for teens and their families in addition to videos resume-building guidance.
