Y’vonne Ormond, CEO of Encinitas-based 5P Consulting, has been named to the National Small Business Association Leadership Council, the company announced in November.

NSBA is a nonpartisan small-business advocacy organization that promotes policy issues in Washington, D.C.

“As a small-business owner, I see the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulations,” Ormond said in 5P Consulting’s news release. “Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take collective small-business messages to the people that need to hear it most: Congress. I’m passionate about making change through advocacy and solution building to allow small businesses to flourish and keep the economy growing.”

On the council, Ormond aims to work on specific issues facing small businesses such as tax reform, the Affordable Care Act, and labor and employment, according to her company’s announcement.

“I am proud to have Y’vonne Ormond as part of our Leadership Council,” NSBA President and CEO Todd McCracken said in the news release. “She came to us highly recommended, and I look forward to our coordinated efforts for years to come.”

5P Consulting works with businesses to develop productivity improvements through processes and technology.
