ENCINITAS — Join San Diego Botanic Garden staff for twice-monthly Butterfly Walks to learn more about butterflies and their close relationship with plants. Participants also become community scientists by helping the Garden keep track of the types and abundance of butterflies on its premises. Walks will be led by a garden volunteer and joined regularly by butterfly expert Michael Perry from UC San Diego and members of his lab.

Butterfly walks are free to members or with Garden admission. Walks will take place the second and fourth Mondays of the month starting at 10 a.m. from June through October. One-hour) and two-hour walks are available. Meet in front of the restrooms across from the entrance to Hamilton Children’s Garden. The experience will vary according to the season and weather conditions. All levels are welcome. Email education@sdbgarden.org for more information.
