The Encinitas city Engineering Department recently “adopted” a family of four through the Boys & Girls Clubs Adopt-a-Family program, the city announced Thursday Dec. 18.
The department purchased essential home goods for the parents — such as practical household items — plus presents for the children, girls ages 10 and 9.
“We’re so grateful for the opportunity to give back and create lasting memories — this initiative truly brought our department closer together while making a real difference in our community,” the department stated in its announcement.
Department staff members gathered for a team-bonding present-wrapping event. The gifts and home goods were delivered to the Boys & Girls Clubs on Friday, Dec. 12, for distribution to the family in time for the holidays.
