Oceanside CA— A large crowd was treated to pageantry, music and dance both cultural and contemporary during the 15th Annual Filipino-American Cultural Celebration on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Thirty-five vendors were on hand along with seven food trucks featuring a variety of ethnic and traditional food. “We had to turn away vendors this year after we filled all the available spaces.” said Belle Limoge, President of Filipino-American Cultural Organization FACO.
The celebration is put on by FACO with the support of Tri City Medical Center, the Oceanside Library and Friends of the Oceanside Library and was held in the Civic Center Plaza. A few of the dignitaries in attendance were Oceanside Deputy Mayor, Chuck Lowery along with City Council-Members, Jack Feller and Esther Sanchez
Belle Limoge presented several donation checks including; $1,000 for the Oceanside Library Foundation and $2,000 to the Friends of the Oceanside Library to Library Director, Sherri Cosby.
The Pinoy’s got Talent portion of the show was hosted by local radio personality, Hula Ramos of the AJ Show on Energy 103.7 and included vocalist Amy Monson and the Feel Some Grove band.
In the pageants; Marylen Nunes was crowned Golden Mrs. FilAm 2016. Platinum Mrs. FilAm 2016 is Florterlita Luzon. Little Miss 2016 is Sarah Serquina and Miss Preteen 2016 is Jeannelle Serquina.
Dejah Thoris Urbanovitch took the title of Mrs. Fil-Am USA with Mrs Fil-Am San Diego, Sardinica Taylor, Mrs Fil-Am North County, Judith Olmo and Mrs Fil-Am California, Nellie Davis filling her court.
