The new 4,400 sq ft. brewery has been 11 months in the making but had a “soft opening” in October as co-Owner John “JJ”Snyder has been fine tuning the taste room for the Grand Opening and unveiling of their new San Diego Style IPA, the Hop 76 IPA.
Legacy offers 9 of their brews on tap in the tasting room served on, quite possibly, the longest bar in North County at 35 feet. The brewer and co-Owner is Mark Mericle. Mark has taken the best of German, English, Scottish and Irish brewers to create Legacy’s unique line of beers with a balanced flavor. Mericle has 25 years experience brewing premium, fresh, flavorful beer and began as an apprentice to some of the original craft brewers in California. Legacy ales are available in close to 20 restaurants and pubs in the area with that number increasing weekly.

A hop that has been used in brewing since the 18th century.
The Chesty Irish Red, an Irish Red Ale, reddish-brown color with caramel and honey like malt sweetness and low-level but present fruity nose with balanced with Magnum hops.

Sometimes referred to as a wee heavy, this ale is dominated by big caramel malt flavors, nutty/toffee flavors and finishes with notes of spiciness. This Scotch ale has a wonderful warming effect and is best served in a bowled snifter to appreciate the intense malt flavors and aroma.
Sleighwreck Ale most often described as Christmas in your mouth is a Red Ale, reddish-brown in color with caramel and honey like malt sweetness. Cinnamon, orange peel, cloves and allspice are also in the mix.
