Oceanside CA— Blade 1936, Oceanside’s newest dining destination, is excited to announce that they are now open for dinner service beginning at 4:00pm. The long-awaited restaurant pays tribute to the Oceanside Blade-Tribune, which took up residence in the building beginning in 1936. The last project of esteemed architect Irving Gill, the Blade 1936 team honored the newspaper building in their design, using it as a motif for the restaurant.
The menu, created by Culinary Director and Partner, Chef Mario Cassineri, features house-made Napoli style wood fired pizzas, crafted semolina pastas, innovative desserts, cocktails, wines, including Blade 1936’s private wine label, Italian bottled beer and local and international beers on tap. Chef Chris Narvaez will oversee the daily operation of the kitchen as Chef di Cuisine. Partner, GM and Head Pizza Chef, John Carlo Ferraiuolo (Caffè Calabria, Red Oven) will utilize a custom-made Stefano Ferrara pizza brick oven from Italy to create classic and custom pizzas using both locally sourced and imported Italian ingredients.
