Update 8/18: Calla Ellison, San Juan Capistrano, won the Women’s Grand Championship and Chris Ford of Ojai was the Men’s winner.

Oceanside CA- Over 300 competitors hit the surf, in Oceanside, this weekend for the 37th Annual World Bodysurfing Championships. Men and women, from as far away as France, are competing for prizes, trophies and the chance to become Grand Champions in Bodysurfing. The competition is scheduled to go through 3:30 pm today, Saturday, on the North and South sides of the pier.
Quarter finals, Semi’s and Finals for all age brackets begin at 9:30 on Sunday. The Men’s and Women’s Grand Championship Final will follow the last age group final. Complete heat information can be found here.
