El Camino Falls Short, Oceanside Sloppy in Win

    Oceanside CA– El Camino falls from the ranks of the unbeaten as the Wildcats(2-1) rally fell short, Friday night 17-19 against the Olympian Eagles(2-1). The Wildcats kicking game struggled as they went 0-4 in field-goal attempts in the second half. Most of the scoring occurred in the first quarter of this game with 17 points scored in less than a minute. A field goal followed by a pick-6 for the Eagles and a 95 yard kick-return by the Wildcats, Eric Wilson made up the first quarter scoring flurry. The Wildcats take on Ramona next Friday with a special kick-off time of 7:30.

    Despite Mistakes, Oceanside Rebounds against Chaparral

    The Pirates rebounded after a tough loss to Serra last week , to beat Chaparral 35-17. The Pirates put the ball on the turf seven times, losing one, and Oceanside quarterbacks combined for two interceptions. Pirate running-back, Thai Cottrell had three touchdowns on 165 yards rushing. Two touchdowns came less than a minute apart of game time for Cottrell. The Pirates take on Ramona at Simcox Field next Friday at 7:00pm.
