Oceanside CA- The Oceanside Chiefs Rugby Club will play the Pasadena A-side team for the Southern California Division 2 Championship on Saturday, April 26. The match is at 1:00 p.m., on the Little Q Rugby Field 9449 Friars Road.
It’s Military Appreciation Day, at the Q, on Saturday and both the Southern California Division 2 and Division 1 Championship games will be held. The Chief’s game will be followed by the Division 1 championship game; OMBAC verses Olympia.
The Oceanside Chiefs have been in the Southern California Rugby Union for only two years. However, within these two years they have won the Open Division (2012) with a record of 8-2 and were the undefeated National Champions in Division 3 (2013) in the USA Rugby Union.
The Chiefs enter the Southern California Division 2 Championship with the record of 9-1. The Oceanside team is a very young team comprised, mostly, of former football and soccer players. Team members hail from all over North County San Diego, as well as, different parts of the country and the South Pacific.
Oceanside Chiefs Rugby Club is a 501 © (3) non-profit Organization that was established in May 2012. They began with, about, twenty players, two coaches, and three committee members.
