Oceanside CA— It was a wintery day in Oceanside for the third Scholastic Surf Series event of the season for Orange County Middle School surfers.
Under partly sunny skies and cool temperatures waves were in the 2 to 3 foot range with fair shape. It was a great day for Shorecliffs as their Boys Shortboard team dominated in both Division 1 and 2 with 5 surfers in each of the finals.
Hagan Johnson took the win in Boys Shortboard Division 1 and Ethan Mudge (Shorecliffs) took the win in Boys Longboard while teammate Kirra Pinkerson took the win in Girls Shortboard. But Liv Stokes from Thurston, Girls Longboard, and Hayden Stein, Bodyboard, from Niguel Hills took first in those divisions and prevented Shorecliffs from a clean sweep in all divisions.
In Division 2 it was Shorecliffs taking first in each division: Diesel Rathgeber, Boys Shortboard, Dylan Clemens, Boys Longboard and Malia Mauch taking the win in both Girls Shortboard and Longboard. Thank you to all of our sponsors who make the SSS season possible.
