Oceanside CA— After the game, on the sidelines , the El Camino Wildcats did not look like a team that had just improved their record to 4-0. Penalties and turnovers plagued the Wildcats on offense but defense saved the night for El Camino.
Fallbrook was unable to get a first down until 4:51 left in the second quarter and only achieved one more in the half as the Wildcats defense gave the offense a short field to work with.
Led by quarterback Beau Gallegos and powerful running by Chris Brown, El Camino went 55 yards in six plays capped by a four yard touchdown run by Brown with 7:57 left in the first quarter.

After the defense forced Fallbrook to punt deep from their own territory, Gallegos hit Dhante Hill for a 10- yard touchdown in what would be the Wildcats final score of the night as the point after was missed, 0-13 with 10:45 left in the first half.
After the intermission, the Wildcats first possession would set the tone for the second half. A fumble at the 26 yard-line at by Aris Jackson, on the first play from scrimmage, gave the Warriors their first scoring opportunity of the night. The Wildcat defense was in the Fallbrook backfield for three straight plays forcing the Warriors to attempt a field goal which was short.
Penalties and turnovers by the Wildcat offense gave Fallbrook a short field to play on for much of the second half. Fallbrook, who lost their starting quarterback earlier in the season and was down to their third quarterback option, #31, Richard Wallace, in second half, could only muster 6 points on two field goals for the final score of 6-13.
John Armentrout added to his season interception total (6) with another pick Friday night ending a Fallbrook drive at the 17 yard-line.
Up next for the Wildcats is a road match-up against San Pasqual(1-3) who lost at home to Mt. Carmel 42-21, Friday night.
In other scores, Oceanside(4-1) won their homecoming game 28-9 over Rancho Buena Vista(0-5) and face Mission Hills(5-0) on the road next week.
