Oceanside got on the board first in a game where both teams defenses dominated play. After exchanging punts, the Pirates had the ball at their own 20 yard-line. Tevin Meadows, the 5’7″ 175lb Oceanside running back, broke through the middle for 77 yards before being chased down by Carlsbad defensive back, Nate Coe. That would be as close as the Pirates would get to the end-zone all night. Oceanside settled for three on a Jake Gerardi field-goal.
