Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College women’s volleyball team, the Lady Spartans, have once again closed out another successful season with a 26-6 overall record, Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) Championship and player Hayler Huntsman receiving All American honors.
“What coach Wright and her team have accomplished is a great representation of the level of excellence they strive for. They have success on the court but also have success in the classroom. The team lives the highest definition of what it means to be a student-athlete. We are very proud of what they have achieved,” explains Pat Conahan, MiraCosta College’s athletic director.

Having secured a first-round match at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Women’s Volleyball State Championship this past Saturday, MiraCosta College went into the championship having won 19 straight matches. Though not successful against San Juaquin Delta College, the Lady Spartans end the regular season with a strong finish.
Last spring, MiraCosta women’s beach volleyball took home the 2017 California Community College Championship. MiraCosta College is one of three colleges in the state to earn such an honor. Women’s volleyball also took home two state championships in 1980 and 1981.
