Oceanside CA— Sixteen-year-old San Clemente surfing sensation Samantha Sibley wins the Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro title by 3.56 points over Brazilian Tatiana Weston-Webb on Sunday.
Sibley moved up to sixth in the World Qualifying rankings and takes home the $10,000 purse along with the championship Super Girl Cape.
“This is the best day of my life,” said Sibley. “Tati [Tatiana Weston Webb] is one of my best friends and mentors and I couldn’t pick a better person to be in the final with. She is just an amazing surfer. I can’t believe I just won the super Girl. It feels amazing.”
Sibley was 63rd in the World Qualifying Series prior to the start of the 2019 Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro.
