Dorothy Mae “Dodie” Philipian, age 78, of Forsyth, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 22, 1937, in Farrell, Pennsylvania. Dodie was the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Duffee) Thomas. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
Dodie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Arizona State University at Flagstaff. She taught music for over 30 years, was a church organist and music director. Dodie also worked as a real estate agent and broker. She was the director of the Vista, California Girls Club. Dodie was an avid garage saler. She was the life of the party and loved by all. A quirky mom, Dodie was a one-of-a-kind and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna Olsen; and a brother, Eddie Thomas.
Dodie is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Argilagos of Willard, Missouri, Georgia Philipian-Holiday and husband Larry of Forsyth, Missouri, and Charyl Philipian-Soyland and husband Karl of Forsyth, Missouri; as well as five grandchildren, Mikenna Wick, Christiana Argilagos, Payton Baker, Elli Lauren and Easton Nida.
