Oceanside CA– Kids from Boys and Girls Clubs all around the North County area converged on the Oceanside Boys and Girls Club for the first annual ‘Day for Kids’ on Saturday. The Oceanside event was just one of hundreds of ‘Day for Kids’ events that took place at Boys and Girls Clubs nationwide.
Music, a food court and games entertained the more than 200 kids who had joined the fun before noon with more arriving as soccer and football games ended in the morning. Over 25 vendors were on hand along with the Oceanside Public Library ’Adelante’ Bookmobile. The Oceanside Police Department brought their Mobile Command Unit, SWAT/Rescue vehicle and a patrol car for the kids to explore.
“Day for Kids creates a unique opportunity for adults to a relive their childhood. Our amazing supporters ‘Pledge to Play’ fostering stronger relationships and meaningful time spent with local youth,” said Jodi Diamond , Chief Executive Officer, Boys and Girls Clubs of Oceanside.
“Today is all about fun” said Alexa Morr with the Oceanside club “We have kids here from all nine Oceanside Boys and Girl Club sites along with Vista.” continued Alexa “This is a big day for the Boys and Girls Clubs here and across the country.”
