California Surf Museum Hosts 7th Annual Gala at Springhill Suites Marriott, October 4

California Surf Museum partners with Feeding the Soul Foundation to host concert, silent auction and fundraiser gala to preserve and support the history of surfing

Oceanside CA – On October 4, The California Surf Museum, whose mission is to preserve the surfing heritage and to share the story of surfing with thousands of visitors throughout the year, is hosting their 7th annual gala at the Springhill Suites Marriott in downtown Oceanside. The night will consist of a silent auction, cocktails, a catered dinner by Chief Holli of Slice of Heaven and a concert featuring with local musician, Cody Lovaas. This year is special as never before has the gala been hosted outside of the museum.
“There is no doubt that surfing is a huge part of the culture and is immersed in the San Diego lifestyle,” said California Surf Museum event director, Louise Balma. “To spend an evening celebrating the history of surfing all while overlooking the waves from the terrace deck of the beautiful venue will make for a magical evening. We encourage everyone to come to the gala on the shorelines of Oceanside, relax with a cocktail and celebrate the surfing culture in San Diego and California.”
Founded in 1986, the California Surf Museum’s mission is to serve as an international repository and resource center on the lifestyle sport of surfing through capturing, preserving, and chronicling its art, culture and heritage for the education and enjoyment of future generations. From its inception, the California Surf Museum has become a staple for preserving the history of surfing.
“We are thrilled to have such an incredible location this year,” said Balma. “Being our 7th year, this is the first time we have celebrated outside the museum. It made sense to find a location where checking the surf is as simple as looking out your balcony. The party will begin in the Oceanside Pier View room with a silent auction, cocktails and appetizers and will elevate to the terrace with panoramic ocean views, dinner, live auction and entertainment.”
At the end of the night, The Springhill Springs Marriott encourages guest to spend the night in one of their ocean view rooms. The 30-second walk to the beach, unique rooftop pool plus nearby shops and restaurants makes for a relaxing morning after the event. The ocean inspired design interiors will tempt you to spend the weekend and not just the night. Breakfast is included in the special Gala room rate— how can one not indulge.
