Oceanside CA– In collaboration with Wounded Warrior Battalion West, Southern Caregiver Resource Center’s (SCRC) Operation Family Caregiver program is offering a support group for spouses/significant others of post-9/11 service members and Veterans with PTSD and/or TBI.
Being in a caregiving situation, regardless of how complex, can be a difficult experience. Caregivers may feel isolated, confused, frustrated, depressed, stressed and limited in terms of knowledge and choices. Support groups that embrace the concept of ‘peer support’ can be very helpful to individuals who are in a caregiving situation and/or who are concerned about a loved one. SCRC’s support groups are professionally facilitated and are a place where participants can freely share experiences, coping strategies, concerns, helpful tips and resources. Participants gain knowledge and receive both emotional and social support.
SCRC has been providing caregiver support services since 1987 and is a private, independent, non-profit agency.
