Mayors, business owners in Vista and Oceanside support Giving Tuesday 2014

Vista CA — On Tuesday December 2nd, 2014 the world will celebrate the third annual Giving Tuesday. Following on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday inspires people to give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support, and help create a better world. In North County, mayors and business owners are already making commitments to celebrate this national day of giving.
Mayors Jim Wood (Oceanside) and Judy Ritter (Vista) will officially proclaim December 2, 2014 as Giving Tuesday in their respective cities. Local business owners in Oceanside and Carlsbad have already committed to making meaningful contributions to North County Lifeline on this day.
“I was born and raised in Oceanside and am now the proud owner of Knuckleheads Barbershop in Oceanside. Oceanside has been good to me and I know that giving back is what it is all about. I am supporting North County Lifeline on Giving Tuesday because of their incredible commitment to kids in Oceanside – specifically Club Crown Heights.” ~ Sara Llanes
The first Giving Tuesday was held in 2012 with more than 2,500 partners, and the movement has grown tremendously. In 2013, more than 10,000 charities, volunteer organizations, corporations and foundations came together in 40+ countries with one common purpose: to kick‐off the holiday giving season on a generous note.
