Oceanside CA— The California Welcome Center Oceanside is spreading holiday cheer this season with “12 Days of Christmas” rewards for “buying local.” Visitors and residents are encouraged to drop by the welcome center between now and December 18 to enter to win one of 12 gift certificates to local restaurants and attractions while shopping from an array of unique, local gift items. The daily “12 Days of Christmas” prize drawings begin on December 8 and conclude on December 19 with a grand prize giveaway of an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Oceanside Marina and two tickets to the California Surf Museum.
“The California Welcome Center Oceanside is a great place to pick up “homegrown” gift items that are a reflection of Oceanside’s surf-inspired personality,” said Leslee Gaul, CEO of Visit Oceanside. “For those who have guests visiting, it is also a convenient spot to purchase discount tickets, coupons and maps to area attractions.”
Visitors can shop from a selection of Oceanside gift items such as a limited edition custom T-shirt by local surf shop Surf Ride that features the Oceanside Pier and celebrates Surf Ride’s 40th anniversary, beach-inspired, custom jewelry by Oh Yeah and Coola’s Hang Ten brand of natural sunscreen. To further encourage visitors to buy local, the Welcome Center is offering visitors a 12 percent discount on retail purchases through December 31, 2014. The discount can only be applied to retail merchandise and does not include attraction tickets.
