Feral Cat Coalition Presents Stray Soirée

San Diego CA – Join the Feral Cat Coalition on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. for the Stray Soirée. This fun-filled mixer, complete with food, drinks, music and a one-of-a-kind silent auction takes place in the Marine Room at Marina Village, 1970 Quivira Way, San Diego, CA 92109. Tickets are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door. All proceeds benefit the Feral & Friends Spay/Neuter Clinic to reducing the suffering and overpopulation of stray and abandoned cats. For more information and to purchase tickets, www.feralcat.com or call (619) 203-5852.
“Although the Feral Cat Coalition provides spay/neuter services for free, the average cost to spay or neuter a cat is about $25,” said Sheri Randle, Feral Cat Coalition board member. “Through the Stray Soirée, we hope to have fun, educate the community about feral cats and raise much needed funds to continue our services to help end the overpopulation of stray and abandoned cats.”
Feral cats are the “wild” offspring of domestic cats and are primarily the result of pet owners’ abandonment or failure to spay and neuter their pets. Feral cat colonies can be found behind shopping centers or businesses, in alleys, parks and rural areas. They are elusive and do not trust humans. Nearly all homeless cats relinquished to county shelters are euthanized. The alternative to humane euthanasia for strays is often death from starvation, disease or abuse.feral_cats
The Feral Cat Coalition is a San Diego County nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering and overpopulation of stray and abandoned cats through humane Trap-Spay/Neuter-Return. “I hope that the people will join us for our Stray Soirée and help us raise the funds to continue our services to help feral cats and end cat overpopulation,” added Randle.
