— National Boys & Girls Club Week is a Boys & Girls Clubs of America initiative to bring awareness to the incredible, impactful work Boys & Girls Clubs do every day. In addition to 4,000 Clubs across the nation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) 9 after-school sites will be bringing Club spirit to Oceanside! There is a program theme each day for Clubs to focus around. The 1,400 youth the BGCO serve daily will be participating in many activities and events throughout 2015 National Boys & Girls Club Week. Boys & Girls Club Week Activity Schedule is as follows:
Monday March 23rd– Open the Door to Education – 90% of Club Alumni Graduate, each of the Clubs 9 sites will focus activities around academic success and education.
Tuesday March 24th
– Open the Door to Teens – Over 630 of our teen members will be “Taking Over” the Club and planning for GREAT futures.
Wednesday March 25th– Open the Door to Character and Leadership – Boys & Girls Clubs of America goal is a million members doing a million hours of service. Youth ages 5-18 learn what it means to give back to our community.
Thursday March 26th– Open the Door to Healthy Lifestyles –Club members will embrace our Wellness Warriors program in the Club experience; Wellness Warriors emphasizes good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being
Friday March 27th– Open the Door. Take the Tour. – Visit their Townsite Clubhouse at 401 Country Club Lane, Oceanside, CA 92054 between 3pm – 5pm, light refreshments will be served.
