Oceanside CA— A night of Polynesian dance and food will highlight a fundraiser to help provide scholarships to students at Oceanside High School. “Voyage Around the Polynesian Villages of Hawaii, Samoa and Tahiti” will be held Friday, May 1 at OHS.
The event will also help pay tribute to Wally Molifua, the former OHS teacher, coach and standout athlete. He was the first person of Samoan heritage to teach in the district. Molifua, who passed away in 2005, was inducted into the OHS Hall of Fame in 2012.
The evening will include a special performance by the OHS drumline and food provided by L&L Hawaiian BBQ. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the Polynesian show slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. For ticket information, please call 858-722-8072.
