Carlsbad CA— The City of Carlsbad is hosting two events for baseball fans in June at city libraries. The first event is a film screening of Ball Talk: Baseball’s Voice of Summer on June 13, at 1 p.m. at the Georgina Cole Library, located at 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive. The second event is a baseball discussion panel featuring local experts on June 20, at 11 a.m. at Carlsbad City Library, located 1775 Dove Lane. Admission to both events is free.
At the June 13 event, film Director Kevin Bender will introduce his 1989 documentary Ball Talk: Baseball’s Voice of Summer and answers questions about his experience making the film. DVDs will be available for sale and signing.
The baseball discussion panel on June 20, will feature sportscaster and author Bob Chandler, author and baseball historian Bill Swank and film director Kevin Bender. The panel will meet in the Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium.
