Carlsbad CA— The City of Carlsbad offers pool events this summer for those who love both movies and the pool. Float n’ Flick will take place at Alga Norte Aquatic Center on Saturday, June 27, and Aug. 22, beginning at 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy a movie under the stars in a heated pool.
Attendees of all ages can swim in the warm-water pool, play on the giant inflatables and take a spin in the water balls. Participants are welcome to bring an air mattress and enjoy a special presentation of the movie, Happy Feet (rated PG), on June 27, and Jungle Book (rated PG) on Aug. 22. Movies will begin at sundown. Tickets are $8 per person and one child, age 3 and under, may be admitted free with a paying adult.
Also coming this summer is Splash Bash: A Parents’ Night Out on Saturday, July 25. This event offers a new twist on the traditional parents night out, giving parents an evening away and their kids a fun time at the pool. Splash Bash is designed for children 8 and older, but kids under 8 are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Attendees will spend an evening playing on giant inflatables, walking on water in giant water balls, diving off of diving boards and dancing to music under the lights by the pool. The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. and tickets are $8 per person. One child, age 3 and under, may be admitted free with a paying adult.
Alga Norte Aquatic Center is located 6565 Alicante Road and is open seven days a week. Daily entrance to the pool is $5 per adult, $3 per child or $2 per spectator. Monthly passes are available.
