Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Civitan held their annual scholarship luncheon, on Monday June 7, 2015 in the Jolly Roger Restaurant at Oceanside Harbor.
Each of the recipients received scholarships between $500 and $1,000.  The two high school students each received two:

• Hope Baca (MiraCosta College) received the Donna Nardi Memorial Scholarship. Donna Nardi was a former Civitan, now deceased.
• Jennifer Arbiso-Williams (MiraCosta College) received an Oceanside Civitan Scholarship.
• Jessica Mora (Oceanside High School, President of Junior Civitan at OHS) received a Loretta Ames Memorial Scholarship and an Oceanside Civitan Scholarship.  Loretta Ames was a former Civitan member, now deceased.
• Meta Nguyen (El Camino High School, President of Junior Civitan at ECHS) also received a Loretta Ames Memorial Scholarship and an Oceanside Civitan Scholarship.
• Theresa Johnson (Family Recovery Center) received an Oceanside Civitan Scholarship.

These scholarships are based on need and achievement and between the scholarships and the allotments we give out in September, are the reason we work so hard.

Also honored at the luncheon were Maureen Hartin (Scholarship Committee), Diane Danielewicz (MiraCosta College), Elaine Dodge (MiraCosta College), Fayrene Erickson (Oceanside Civitan Scholarship Committee Chair), Judy Ezratty (Family Recovery Center), Nielsine Archibald (El Camino High School Junior Civitan Adviser) and Kathie Chan (Oceanside a High School Junior Civitan Adviser).
These women put in countless hours helping to decide who the recipients are. Their tireless efforts produce amazing results time and again.
