Carlsbad CA— The City of Carlsbad will offer First Step Gymnastics this fall for young children. Two levels will be offered beginning Sept. 1. The first level, a parent participation class for children ages 10 months to 3 years, introduces young ones to music, colors and movement and helps develop gross and fine motor skills. The second level, the tiny rollers class for ages 3 to 5 years, introduces gymnastics apparatus and concentrates on gross motor skills, coordination and listening. Both classes are 45-minutes and meet at 10 or 10:50 a.m. on Tuesdays at Stagecoach Community Center and Wednesdays at Calavera Hills Community Center. The cost is $127 and Carlsbad residents receive a 10 percent discount.
In addition to these new classes, the city offers aquatics, dance, fitness, martial arts, sports and special interest classes. Check out the latest Fall 2015/Winter 2016 Community Services Guide and sign up today. The guide is also available at community centers, libraries and online at www.carlsbadca.gov/parksandrec.
