Small business, breast cancer survivor hopes to raise more than $9,000 on October 18

San Diego CA— For The Wine Pub and Owner Sandy Hanshaw, Breast Cancer Awareness Month means gearing up for a pretty-in-pink celebration that means business: Bike for Boobs.
On October 18, from 3 – 7 p.m., the local, gourmet restaurant rolls out its widely popular, third-annual community event. In 2014, the casual bike ride and after party at The Wine Pub raised $9,000 for The Breast Cancer Fund – an amount Hanshaw aims to beat this year.
“Although pedaling in pink won’t end breast cancer, it will raise a ton of money and awareness for important local organizations who educate and provide resources to women who need it,” says The Wine Pub Owner Sandy Hanshaw. “As a survivor, I know how crucial support from the community is.”
On Sunday, October 18, the event will begin with dozens of pink peddlers rendezvousing at The Wine Pub, gearing up to join the San Diego County Bike Coalition and Wheel Women of San Diego for a leisurely group ride around Shelter Island. Post pedaling, guests will reunite at The Wine Pub to celebrate with drinks, appetizers, live music, generous auction items and fun with friends.
Pull out your pink pedal gear and Bike for Boobs by reserving your spot with a suggested $25 donation. The Wine Pub also accepts donations to the Breast Cancer Fund from those who cannot attend.
