Carlsbad CA— The City of Carlsbad will offer a new activity this fall for trail enthusiasts. Adventure Trail Hikes begin Sept. 19 and take place at various trails around Carlsbad for ages 10 and up. Class meets on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon for four weeks for a fee of $70.
The City of Carlsbad is home to nearly 50 miles of trails, and hiking the trails is a great way for kids and adults to become more active and support a healthy lifestyle. Each week, a volunteer trail guide leads a different hike, ranging from easy to more challenging. Hikers also get to experience and learn about local wildlife in the area. Bring a lunch and enjoy amazing views. On the last hike, food will be provided.
Trails to explore:
- Sept. 19 Golf Course/Veterans Park
- Sept. 26 Agua Hedionda Lagoon
- Oct. 3 Rancho La Costa Preserve
- Oct. 10 Lake Calavera
In addition to this new class, the city offers aquatics, dance, fitness, martial arts, sports and special interest classes. Carlsbad residents always receive a 10 percent discount for all classes.
