Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Harbor Days organizer, Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, is encouraging attendees to wear their best pirate costumes during the special weekend event, Saturday, September 26th, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 27th, 2015, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This multi-attraction event is presented by Genentech and Tri-City Medical Center.
“We’ll have our own crew of entertaining Pirates led by Captains Jack Sparrow and Junebug at the Pirate Village”, stated David Nydegger, Oceanside’s Chamber of Commerce President. “The Pirates absolutely add to the fun and history of our Harbor Days and we want everyone to take advantage of the spirit of these festivities, so bring your eye patch and join us.”
Harbor Days features over 200 arts and craft exhibits, a tasty food court, costumed pirates, and a beer garden sponsored by the Prohibition Brewing Company. Contests are also a big part of the Oceanside Harbor Days that includes a fishing derby, teen pageant, the world-famous Tiki Swim, and the wonderfully unique, “Nail and Sail” competition that draws thousands of spectators.
Special military guests are a highlight for Harbor Days, too. This year the Navy’s LCAC from ACU-5 will land on the beach early Saturday morning and vehicles from Camp Pendleton’s Mechanized Museum will be on display on the Harbor Beach.
Harbor Days is free to the public with complimentary transportation provided by the Chamber via the British Bus Company, with their unique double-decker buses picking up Harbor Days attendees from various shuttles stops throughout the Harbor and provides a pick-up/drop-off location at the downtown Oceanside Transit Center at Seagaze and Cleveland Streets.
The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce is now at the deadline stage of accepting contestants, vendor and volunteer applications. For more information go to www.OceansideHarborDays.com
