Carlsbad CA— Carlsbad City Library is hosting a free author talk with Ingrid Croce, restaurateur, publisher, philanthropist and author of I Got a Name: The Jim Croce Story, on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m., Janice Steinberg to discuss her historical fiction novel The Tin Horse.
Both events will be held at Carlsbad City Library’s Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Lane. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Oct. 24 with Ingrid Croce:

Croce will discuss the biography on her late husband, legendary singer-songwriter Jim Croce, as well as her successful business experiences. Croce is widely credited with leading the revitalization of San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter when she opened Croce’s Restaurant & Jazz Bar. I Got a Name: The Jim Croce Story is a revealing portrait of a great artist as well as a moving love story that captures the rise of the burgeoning counterculture of the 1960s and early 1970s. Nov. 8 with Janice Steinberg:

Steinberg is an award-winning journalist and author of five mystery novels, including the Shamus Award-nominated Death in a City of Mystics. The Tin Horse is a rich multigenerational story about the intense, often fraught bond that sisters’ share and the dreams and sorrows that lay at the heart of the immigrant experience.
