San Diego CA— For the second year in a row, San Diego welcomes the National Bike Tourism Conference and its hundreds of bicycle enthusiasts eager to grow the bicycle tourism industry nationwide.
The San Diego County Bike Coalition, a local organization protecting and advocating for the rights of all people on bikes, welcomes the National Bike Tourism Conference with the belief that San Diego has all the right ingredients to become a premiere bike-friendly destination. In the past year, San Diego expanded the scope of bike tourism with the city’s first-ever bike share program. Communities witnessed the program go from conceptualization and planning stages to full implementation, accelerating the potential for San Diego’s bike tourism industry.
At the three-day conference, Executive Director Andy Hanshaw will put the spotlight on bike share as well as his experience heading the City of San Diego’s Bike Advisory Committee and San Diego’s only countywide bike advocacy organization.
The Bike Coalition presentations include:

  • Andy Hanshaw, San Diego County Bike Coalition executive director
    • Moderator of Bright Ideas for Cycling Events
    • Friday, November 6 at 3 p.m.
  • Mia Bolton, Mixte Communications account executive
    • Interactive Discussion of Cycling Events – Media Relations
    • Wednesday, November 4 at 2 p.m.

A full schedule of presentations for the conference and online registration can be found at bicycletournetwork.org. Registration is $375 for the full conference and $175 for a one-day pass.
