Oceanside CA— During the week of 1 February – 5 February, the First Marine Division Association will celebrate its 75th anniversary as a fighting unit with a reunion and anniversary celebration. The week offers social activities in Oceanside and tours on Camp Pendleton which include visits to combat units, a private tour of the historic Ranch House and attendance at a recruit graduation at MCRD San Diego.
The First Marine Division Association invites former members and friends of the division to celebrate this glorious moment in history with a banquet at the Pacific Views Event Center attended by the Commanding General and distinguished guests; “The Old Breed” is honoring 75 years of military excellence with special recognition to Purple Heart recipients and Korean War veterans.
The First Marine Division Association (FMDA), founded in 1947 by combat veterans of World War II, is an association where Marines and Sailors who now serve, or who have served, come together as a “Family of Warriors” and share that unexplained quality that makes us stand apart, known as “Esprit de Corps”.
Visit Oceanside Conference and Visitors Bureau has partnered with the organization to welcome the reunion and attendees to this patriotic and authentic beachfront community. “San Diego’s North Shore” is centrally located in the heart of the beautiful Southern California Coastline and is among the region’s best places to escape the hustle and bustle of the crowded cities.
