Oceanside CA— On her 82^nd birthday, Oceanside’s senior running sensation, Anne Garrett was surprised with yet another accolade to add to her exploding collection of awards medals, memorabilia and photos. The United States Track and Field Association honored Anne as the 2015 Road Runner of the Year for all women 80 – 84 yrs. In 2015 Anne set an American Age Group record for women half marathoners with a time of 2:13.08 at the Surf City USA Marathon.
Her running companions surrounded Anne and supported on what was a very special birthday for a woman who loves to run and loves the friends she runs with. Kathy Kinane , the Executive Director of the Move Your Feet Before You Eat! Foundation was very proud to congratulated Anne and present her with the plaque. Kathy thanked Anne for 5 years of inspiring the young and old to run and walk with your friends and family as our foundation spokesperson.
