Carlsbad CA— Dr. Keith Meldahl, instructor of geology and oceanography at MiraCosta College and well-known author, will talk about his new book Surf, Sand, and Stone on April 5, 2016, at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Discovery Center, 1580 Cannon Road, Carlsbad from 6–7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Sunita (Sunny) Cooke, superintendent/president of the MiraCosta Community College District will begin the evening with a brief update on Mira Costa College before introducing Dr. Meldahl.
Keith Meldahl’s book, Surf, Sand, and Stone tells the scientific story of the Southern California coast: its mountains, bluffs, beaches, islands, waves, earthquakes and related phenomena. The compelling narrative of the book suggests how the coast will change in the future and how residents of Southern California can best prepare.
