Oceanside CA— The City of Oceanside Arts Commission will be hosting a public forum on Wednesday, March 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Rooms at the Oceanside Public Library’s Civic Center Library, at 330 North Coast Highway in downtown Oceanside. To sign up to be a part of this conversation, interested community members are encouraged to go to www.oceansidepubliclibrary.org to RSVP.
The mission of the Arts Commission includes the intent “to encourage and promote the development and enjoyment of performing and visual arts in the City of Oceanside.” The Commission seeks to initiate a master planning process for the arts in fiscal year 2016-2017, to identify opportunities and set goals, optimizing the potential of the arts to enrich the life, identity, and economy of the City. In order to best advise the City and prepare for such an undertaking, community input is essential, so that planning is informed by feedback from constituents.
The Commission plans to start this process with community conversation, using the Americans for the Arts’ guidance for do-it-yourself Community Visions forums. For more information, please contact Commission staff liaison CJ Di Mento at (760) 435-5614.
