Carlsbad CA— Online registration is open for City of Carlsbad spring break camps. This year, the city will offer two weeks of spring break camps for kids ages 3 to 15, from March 28 to April 1, and from April 4 to April 10 to accommodate kids who attend Carlsbad Unified, San Marcos Unified and Encinitas Unified School Districts.
During the week of March 28, two British Soccer camps are available, for ages ranging from 3 to 14. Participants will learn soccer fundamentals, improve foot skills and play games. Thrill seekers will enjoy Smash Lab, where participants ages 6 to 12 will build cool structures and then destroy them, and aspiring chefs will love Top Chef cooking camp, where 6 to 12 year olds will learn food handling skills, menu preparation and how to cook some delicious dishes.
Aquatic Sports camp will also be offered at Alga Norte Aquatic Center for 6 to 14 year olds for both weeks. Campers will practice swimming, be introduced to water sports and play on the giant inflatables.
During the week of April 4, the city offers Minecraft LEGO camp for 5 to 12 years olds, where campers will bring Minecraft to life using LEGOs, resourcefulness and creativity. Pee Wee-Color Me Crazy, for 3 to 5 year olds, will engage little ones with arts and crafts, boogie time, circle stories and water play. Kidz/Explorer Camp –Water World for ages 5 to 13, will offer sports, crafts and games and will include field trips to the movies and SeaWorld. Sports camps, including Coast 2 Coast Soccer and Coach Cooper’s Skate USA for kids ages 4 to 13, are a fun way to will improve skills, build confidence and make new friends.
Summer camps and classes are also now for online registration. “Our Spring/Summer Community Services Guide is filled with more than 70 pages of activities for your child to enjoy during their spring and summer vacation, including swim lessons for children of all ages and ability,” said City of Carlsbad Senior Management Analyst Bonnie Elliott. “We offer film making, Disney princesses, ceramics, pirate adventures, Star Wars, laser tag and even a camp on how to build epic forts, so there’s truly a camp for every interest.” Camp themes include creative and performing arts, aquatics, science and exploration, sports and fitness and traditional day camps that run from June 20 through Aug. 26.
The Community Services Guide is available online and at community centers, libraries and city buildings. Parents should sign up early, since many camps sell out.
Online registration is now open at www.carlsbadconnect.org. Walk-in, mail and phone-in registration begins March 7 at 8 a.m.
