The Miracle Girl is set against the backdrop of the new millennium and whatever it may bring. Young Anabelle Vincent lies in a coma-like state in her home in suburban Los Angeles. People in need of healing begin to make pilgrimages to her home-it’s rumored that “The Miracle Girl” can make them well. Told from the perspective of her mother and father, visitors and Anabelle herself, this “winning debut novel” and its characters will captivate readers with a style Kirkus Reviews calls “lively, pitch perfect and assured.”
Andrew Roe’s fiction has been published in Tin House, One Story, The Sun, Glimmer Train, Slice, The Cincinnati Review, and other publications, as well as the anthologies 24 Bar Blues (Press 53) and Where Love Is Found (Washington Square Press). His nonfiction has been published in the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Salon.com, and elsewhere. He lives in Oceanside, California, with his wife and three children.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library.
