The New Zealand-inspired restaurant rallying the Little Italy neighborhood to show their support for our troops this summer

San Diego CAQueenstown Public House, a New Zealand-inspired restaurant and bar located in San Diego’s bustling Little Italy neighborhood, announced today a partnership with the Veterans Village San Diego to kickoff its summer giving in support of the San Diego military community. Beginning with a clothing and essentials drive for local veterans and their families, Queenstown will give all patrons who bring items for donation a 10% discount off of their bill, ending July 25, 2016. On July 25, Queenstown Public House will throw a Summer Soiree with food and drink specials from 6pm 10pm to celebrate San Diego’s local military and present final donations to the Veterans Village San Diego.
“Our service members sacrifice a tremendous amount for our freedom and we wanted these selfless citizens to know that San Diego recognizes and appreciates all that they do,” said Darren Roach, owner of Queenstown Public House. “Our summer military appreciation drive will give locals in our neighborhood the opportunity to honor our military and their families, who make their own sacrifices as well. We hope to bring a sense of community pride and unity throughout our military city.”
All proceeds and items raised by Queenstown Public House will go directly to Veterans Village of San Diego. Donated items can range from clothing for men, women, children and babies, to household items and everyday necessities such as toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo and more. A large percentage of collected items will be used for the Veterans Village of San Diego’s three day event Stand Down, an initiative to help homeless veterans receive access to health services and benefits, find employment and take back control of their lives.
Active or retired military will also receive 10% from their bill during July 4-6 with valid military ID.
