Carlsbad CA— The annual Dinner and a Movie fundraiser returns to Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park in Carlsbad on Friday, Aug. 12. Guests will experience a taste of the Spanish countryside with an exclusive dinner and silent auction to support the park’s signature fourth grade California History and Art Program.
Each year over 1,200 Carlsbad fourth grade students participate in the California History and Art Program. The proceeds from the dinner and silent auction allow this program to be offered to all fourth grade students in Carlsbad, at no cost.
This year’s event is sponsored by Friends of Carrillo Ranch and Personal Touch Dining, the park’s exclusive wedding and special event service provider. The event includes a three course, menu with authentic Spanish food, and a hosted bar. The Friends of Carrillo Ranch will present a silent auction, featuring theme park tickets and gifts from local merchants. The night’s festivities conclude with an outdoor screening of Blockade (1938) starring Leo Carrillo and Henry Fonda.
Several unique dining options are available, including a private tapas reception with the park’s curator. Dining tickets start at $60 each, and only 175 tickets are available. Tickets must be purchased in advance by Aug. 5.
“Supporting arts and education is important in Carlsbad and we are thrilled to partner with the Cultural Arts Office, Friends of Carrillo Ranch and Personal Touch Dining to make this fundraiser such a special event,” says Mick Calarco, special projects manager.
Tickets are available online at www.carlsbadconnect.org (Activity # 23158). For more information, call 760-476-1042 or visit www.leocarrilloranch.org. Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park is located at 6200 Flying LC Lane. The park has irregular earthen and paved surfaces, including stairs and trails. Guests should wear appropriate shoes for the uneven terrain.
Once owned by actor and conservationist Leo Carrillo, Leo Carrillo Historic Park features hand-crafted adobe buildings, antique windmills, a reflecting pool and many other beautiful historic structures where visitors can explore and experience California history.
