Oceanside CA— Join the Oceanside Public Library on Saturday, October 22 at both the Civic Center and Mission Branch libraries to create Día de los Muertos Crafts. San Diego Artist Maribel Siman-Delucca will lead two workshops, Bottle Cap Jewelry at 1:30 p.m. at Civic Center Library located at 330 N. Coast Highway and Sugar Skull Decorating at Mission Branch Library located at 3671 Mission Avenue at 3:30 p.m.
Maribel Siman-Delucca is a San Diego-based artist who owns and operates Back From Tomboctou, a retail shop that specializes in Latin and Central American folk art. She has been offering Día de los Muertos workshops for over a decade. She helps use art and craft making to teach history and culture. On October 22, people of all ages will have an opportunity to learn the Mexican cultural tradition of Día de los Muertos through creating bottle cap jewelry at 1:30 p.m. at Civic Center Library and decorating Sugar Skulls at 3:30 p.m. at Mission Branch Library. All workshops are FREE, and supplies will be available. There is limited space, so sign up soon by calling (760) 435-5600.
